Dovercourt is a coastal town in Essex, now part of the larger parish of Harwich, with which it shares a continuous seafront. Dovercourt’s beach is a key attraction: sandy, gently sloping, and ideal for family outings. It’s also home to the Dovercourt Lighthouse—two cast-iron towers built in 1863 to guide ships into Harwich Harbour. Though no longer in use, they remain iconic features of the shoreline.
